Hollow-body frog
Also called frog, topwater frog
A soft hollow topwater with the hook points tucked against the body, built to be fished over matted grass and lily pads.
The body collapses when a fish clamps down, which exposes the two upturned hook points. Until that happens the points sit flush against the plastic, so the frog crawls over pads, mats and slop that would foul any other topwater on the first cast.
Fish it right on top of the cover, not beside it. Walk it across a mat, pause it in every hole and pocket, and be ready for the bite to come as an explosion through the vegetation.
This one needs heavy gear. A hookset has to pull the frog free of the mat and drive hooks through a bass's jaw, and then you have to winch the fish out through the same salad. Heavy rod, braided line, no exceptions.
Wait a full beat after the blowup. Frogs get missed constantly because the fish has grabbed the mat and not the bait yet.
